My Outdoor Adventure
One day a little boy called Jack went on a holiday with his parents to his grandparents cabin in the bush. His Grandpa always took him fishing when they went to the cabin and he loved to catch fish.

Jack was very excited because he and his Grandpa were going to get up early in the morning and go fishing. Jack went to bed very early that night because he wanted to be wide-awake in the morning. His Mum read him "Jack and the Bean Stalk" to help him get to sleep, it was his favorite story.
The next morning Jack woke up very early and got his Grandpa out of bed. His Grandpa cooked them bacon and eggs for breakfast and packed some food and drink for their fishing trip. The cabin was very quiet when they left and the rest of the family was still asleep. They listened to the birds singing as they walked and smelt the beautiful fresh air.

It was a long walk to their favorite fishing spot so Grandpa told stories as they walked. They got to their fishing spot and set up their rods and sat down to wait for a bite. After a while Jack got bored and decided to go for a walk further along the creek. Then all of a sudden he heard a noise in the bush and a great big rabbit jumped past him. He decided to try and follow the rabbit, he did so for a while then he got lost. Jack was very frightened, as there were many noises in the bush. He imagined bears and all sorts of things might be out there.

He wished they had brought his dog Brownie for the walk because he would know the way home. He saw a Goanna sitting on a rock sunning himself. He started to get frightened and he was crying when all of a sudden he heard something moving in the bush. He froze in fear but it was nothing to be scared of, it was his dog Brownie! Brownie jumped out of the bush and started to licked him all over.

Brownie led Jack all the way back to his Grandfather and they went back to the cabin. Jack promised never to run off again and he gave his dog a great big bone to thank him for showing him the way back.
